That's why Gumpearls toothpaste tablets are also available for children from the age of three. So that everyone has the opportunity to have strong and healthy teeth, without compromising on animals and nature. It's even more important when we talk about our children's future! In this article, we get the straight answer to what distinguishes children's toothpaste from adult toothpaste and answer all your questions about toothpaste tablets for children!

What is the difference between children's toothpaste and adult toothpaste?

There are really only two differences between toothpaste for adults and for children. One is the taste, children's toothpaste is usually much milder in taste than that for adults. The other reason is that children's toothpaste contains less fluoride than adult toothpaste. This does not mean that children have less need for fluoride, but that children are more likely to swallow the toothpaste than adults are. Fluoride is an important ingredient for cleaning our teeth and preventing cavities. But in the stomach it can cause problems.

That's why our adult toothpaste tablets contain 1450 ppm fluoride, while our children's toothpaste tablets only contain 1000 ppm fluoride. As with the rest of Gumpearl's range, our children's toothpaste tablets are free of unnecessary additives, vegan and contribute to a reduced carbon footprint.

Toothpaste tablets for children, free of titanium dioxide

Last fall, the European Union banned the presence of the dye titanium dioxide in food, as it cannot be ruled out that the substance causes damage to the genetic material and risks causing cancer. Since toothpaste is not a food, the products are exempt from the rule, which means that many toothpastes still contain titanium dioxide. Gumpearl toothpaste tablets are free of titanium dioxide, just like other unnecessary additives.

Give your child the right conditions from the start

Up until the child is six years old, it is recommended to use toothpaste intended for children, due to the fluoride content in adult toothpaste products.
