We just got back from the WTCE trade fair in Hamburg, and wow – what energy! It was the second time we showed Gumpearl at an international trade fair. It was a really nice confirmation that we are on the right track.
WTCE (World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo) is the place where airlines, hotels, caterers and suppliers meet. It's all about how we can make travel easier, better and more sustainable. And that's where our toothpaste tablets for the travel and catering industry fit in perfectly.

That's why Gumpearl attracted attention at the fair
We immediately noticed that many in the industry are looking for new solutions. Not just to save weight and space, but to be able to offer something that feels well thought out, hygienic and more sustainable. Several visitors stopped, asked curious questions and wanted to feel the product. They liked the idea of being able to replace traditional tubes. Especially among those who work with flights, trains or catering where spills, leaks and fluid restrictions are always a problem. Many also reacted positively to the fact that the tablets have long shelf life, no preservatives and clear dosage – one tablet per use, no waste.
Gumpearl in practice – for flights, hotels and catering
Think about all the toiletries and amenity kits that are handed out on board or at hotels.
By replacing traditional tube toothpaste with Gumpearls tablets can travel companies:
- Reduce weight in transport and thereby lower your carbon emissions
- Simplify logistics and inventory management
- Offer a cleaner and more enjoyable product experience for their guests
We clearly noticed that many players at the fair are ready to take the next step – from vision to reality. And it feels incredibly fun to be part of that development.
A playful touch: Gumpearl x Moomin
We received many questions about how the tablets work in practice – and we noticed that there was genuine curiosity. Many people tried them on site and were pleasantly surprised by how simple and refreshing it felt.
We are also particularly proud of our collaboration with Moomin . Together, we have developed a concept that makes dental care more fun for both children and adults – without compromising on sustainability. The Moomin figures make our packaging both recognizable and charming, and the message is clear: Sustainability can be both practical and fun. What was particularly great was that our Moomin collaboration brought smiles.
What we take away from WTCE
It was clear: WTCE showed us that the industry is moving – towards smarter, simpler and more climate-friendly solutions. For us, this was proof that Gumpearl is right on time. And it makes us even more excited to continue developing Gumpearl together with companies in the hotel, airline, train and public sectors who also want to think new ways about oral care for travelers.
So, a big thank you to everyone who came by, squeezed, felt, tasted and asked questions. It means a lot to us.
